Youth Unemployment - Panteion University

Panteion University graduates and undergraduates face unemployment up to 22%. At the same time 40,8% of graduates are employed at a domain different than their studies. More specifically, unemployment has female gender. The percentage of men who could find a relevant job until now is 8% bigger than women.

Also important is the difference noted among the schools and departments of the Pnateion University. The department of Public Administration has the highest rate (85,9%), while the department of Political Science and history has the lowest (62,1%). Somewhere in the middle we can find the department of Sociology with employment rates reaching 70,6%, whereas other departments have even lower rates.

At the same time the department of Economic and Regional Development has the highest unemployment rate, 28,6%, and the lowest belongs to the department of Public Administration (10,9%). The rest of the departments face unemployment at a high percentage, especially the Political Science and History and the Communication, Media and Culture one.

Greece, among other countries, members of European Union, has the first place at youth unemployment rates (21%), where Spain has 16,7%, Czech Republic with 2,7%, Germany with 3,6% and Malta with 4,1%.
